Cocktail Infusion Steps

How To Infuse

  1. Fill your jar with your favorite spirit.  If filling The Southern Spirit Infuse jars, use 16 ounces of alcohol; if you are using Camp Craft, fill your jar with 12 ounces.  Liquor recommendations are listed with each recipe below.
  1. Screw cap back on tightly and place in the refrigerator.
  1. Wait three days.
  1. On the third day, strain the liquid out of the infuse jar into another jar, especially spicy ones!
  1. Optional: Fill the infuse jar again with the same liquor if you want to infuse twice, making even more cocktails!

Do not infuse longer than three days with any spicy flavors such as the Mango Habanero.  The longer you infuse, the spicier it gets! If you are not ready to drink a spicy infusion after three days, pull the pepper out of the infusion after three days.  

Mocktail

Want to make a zero-proof (no alcohol) mocktail?  Fill the jar with hot boiling water instead of liquor and follow the same instructions.

 

Life Of The Infuse Jar

Shelf Life: One year without infusing.

Once Infused: Once infused, your jar will last up to 30 days in the refrigerator.

Mango Habanero Recipes

 

THE SIMPLE MANGO HABANERO MARGARITA 

1 ½ to 2 ounces           Infused Mango Habanero

  (infuse with silver or reposado tequila)

3 ounces                        Tres Agave Margarita Mix (find at HEB, Randall's, Target, Specs)

 

Fill shaker tin with ice.  Combine all ingredients into a shaker tin and shake vigorously.  Strain over ice-filled low-ball or margarita glass.  Optional: rim your glass with salt or Tajin before straining margarita in the glass.

 

PITCHER OF SIMPLE MANGO HABANERO MARGARITA

2 cups                            Infused Mango Habanero (infuse with silver or reposado tequila)

3 cups                            Tres Agave Margarita Mix (find at HEB, Randall's Target)

 

Shake infusion jar vigorously and strain into large pitcher.  Add Margarita Mix and stir.  Pitcher will garner appx. 10 cocktails. THE MANGO HABANERO MARGARITA FROM SCRATCH

1 ½ to 2 ounces         Infused Mango Habanero

(infuse with silver or reposado tequila)

1 ounce                        Orange Liqueur

¾ ounces                    Fresh-squeezed lime

Optional:  If you like it sweeter, drizzle agave nectar to taste

 

Fill shaker tin with ice.  Combine all ingredients into a shaker tin and shake vigorously.  Strain over ice-filled low-ball or margarita glass.  Optional: rim your glass with salt before straining margarita in the glass.  

 

 

THE SPICY SUNRISE

2 ounces         Infused Mango Habanero

(infuse with silver or reposado tequila  or vodka)

Orange Juice

Pour 2 ounces of infused Mango Habanero into a wine or flute glass. Top with orange juice.  Garnish with an orange peel or orange zest.

 

 

THE MANGO SIP

2 ounces                        Infused Mango Habanero

(infuse with silver or reposado tequila  or vodka)

Cranberry Cheer Recipes

POINSETTIA 

2 ounces             Infused Cranberry Cheer (infuse with vodka)

1 ounce               Cranberry Juice

1 ounce               Orange Juice

Splash                 Prosecco

 

Fill shaker tin with ice.  Pour 2 ounces of infused Cranberry Cheer in shaker tin.  Pour 1 ounce of cranberry juice  and 1 ounce of orange juice in shaker tin and shake vigorously.  Strain into a glass.  Top with a splash of Prosecco.

 

PITCHER OF POINSETTIA

2 cups                Infused Cranberry Cheer (infuse with vodka)

1 cup                  Cranberry Juice

1 cup                  Orange Juice

Splash                Prosecco

 

Shake infusion jar vigorously and strain into pitcher.  Add cranberry and orange juice and stir. Pitcher will garner appx. 10 cocktails. Pour from pitcher into champagne glass and top with prosecco.  Double the batch by infusing the jar contents in a 32 ounce jar and double the recipe above – should garner 20 cocktails in a pitcher.

 

CHRISTMAS PUNCH

1.5 - 2 ounces   Infused Cranberry Cheer (infuse with light rum)

1.5 ounces        Dry Sparkling Wine (Prosecco)

.75 ounces        Cranberry Juice

2 ounces           Apple Juice

.75 ounces        Orange Juice

Fill shaker tin with ice.  Pour 1.5 - 2 ounces of infused Cranberry Cheer in shaker tin.  Pour cranberry juice, apple juice, and orange juice in shaker tin and shake vigorously.  Strain into a glass.  Top with Prosecco.

 

PITCHER OF CHRISTMAS PUNCH

2 cups               Infused Cranberry Cheer (infuse with light rum)

1.5 cups            Dry Sparkling Wine (Prosecco)

3/4 cup              Cranberry Juice

2 cups                Apple Juice

3/4 cup              Orange Juice

 

Shake infusion jar vigorously and strain into pitcher.  Add cranberry, apple, and orange juice and stir.  Pitcher will garner appx. 10 cocktails. Apple Pie Recipes

 

 WICKED WASSAIL

2 ounces            Infused Apple Pie (infuse with bourbon or vodka)

2 ounces            Apple Cider (MOTT’S Apple Cider – Fall)

 

Fill shaker tin with all ingredients.  Shake vigorously and pour over ice.  Alternatively, serve hot for a warm, winter beverage.

Old Fashioned Recipe

OLD FASHIONED

2 - 4 ounces     Infused Old Fashioned (Infuse with Bourbon or Rye Whiskey)

Pour Old Fashioned Infusion over a large block of ice in a low-ball glass.

Sip and Enjoy! 

 

Bourbon is always whiskey, but whiskey is not always bourbon. Bourbon has important distinctions that differentiate it from whiskey: it has to be made in the United States from at least 51% corn, be aged in new, charred American white oak barrels, and the finished product must be at least 80 proof.

Citrus Berry Recipes

SANGRIA

2 ounces               Infused Citrus Berry (infuse with brandy)

4 ounces               Spanish Red Wine (Rioja or Tempranillo)

Splash                   Splash of orange juice to taste

 

PITCHER OF SANGRIA

2 cups                  Infused Citrus Berry (infuse with brandy)

1 bottle                 Spanish Red Wine (Rioja or Tempranillo)

1 cup                    Orange Juice

 

Shake infusion jar vigorously and strain into pitcher.  Add wine and orange juice and stir.  Pitcher will garner appx. 10 cocktails. Pour from pitcher over ice-filled glass.  Double the batch by infusing the jar contents in a 32 ounce jar and double the recipe above – should garner 20 cocktails in a pitcher.

 

SUMMER BERRY FIZZ

2 ounces                Infused Citrus Berry (infuse with vodka)

4 ounces                Topo Chico or Club Soda

Twist of Lime

Optional:  Top with a splash of Prosecco

 

Fill shaker tin with ice.  Pour 2 ounces of infused Citrus Berry in shaker tin and shake vigorously.  Strain into a low-ball glass.  Top with 4 ounces of Topo Chico.  Garnish with a twist of lime or finish with a strawberry or blackberry in glass.

 

WILD BERRY LEMONADE

2 ounces               Infused Citrus Berry (infuse with vodka)

4 ounces               Lemonade

Splash Topo Chico or Club Soda

 

Fill shaker tin with ice.  Pour 2 ounces of infused Citrus Berry in shaker tin.  Pour 4 ounces of lemonade in shaker tin and shake vigorously.  Strain into a low-ball glass.  Top with a splash of Topo Chico.  Garnish with a lemon.

 

CITRUS BERRY SUNRISE

2 ounces              Infused Citrus Berry (infuse with vodka)

2 ounces              Orange Juice

1 ounce                Prosecco

 

Fill shaker tin with ice.  Pour 2 ounces of infused Citrus Berry in shaker tin.  Pour 2 ounces of orange juice in shaker tin and shake vigorously.  Strain into a flute or wine glass.  Top with 1 ounce of Prosecco.  Garnish with an orange slice and finish with a strawberry or blackberry in glass.

 

 

Grapefruit Blush Recipes

 SIMPLE PALOMA

1 ounce     Infused Grapefruit Blush (infuse with tequila)

2 ounces   Stirrings Simple Paloma Mix (find at Specs, Total Wine)

2 ounces   Topo Chico or Sparkling Water

Optional:      Rim Glass with Salt or Tajin and garnish with lime wedge

 

Fill shaker tin with ice.  Pour 1 ounce of infused Grapefruit Blush in shaker tin.  Pour 2 ounces of Stirrings Simple Paloma Mix in shaker tin and shake vigorously.  Strain into an ice filled glass.  Add 2 ounces of Topo Chico or sparkling water.  Optional: Rim glass with salt or Tajin and garnish with lime wedge.

 

PITCHER OF PALOMA

2 cups       Infused Grapefruit Blush (infuse with tequila)

4 cups       Stirrings Simple Paloma Mix (find at Specs, Total Wine)

2 ounces   Topo Chico or Sparkling Water

Optional:   Rim Glass with Salt or Tajin and garnish with lime wedge

 

Shake infusion jar vigorously and strain into pitcher (this is approximately 2 cups of infusion).  Add Paloma Mix and stir. Pitcher will garner appx. 10 cocktails. Pour over ice-filled glass and top with Topo Chico or Sparkling Water.  Optional: rim your glass with salt or Tajin before pouring Paloma in the glass.  Double the batch by infusing the jar contents in a 32 ounce jar and double the recipe above – should garner 20 cocktails in a pitcher.

 

 

SALTY DOG

2 ounces       Infused Grapefruit Blush (infuse with vodka)

2 ounces       Grapefruit Juice

2 ounces       Lime or Grapefruit Sparkling Water (e.g: La Croix)

Salt for Rimming Glass Or Inside of Glass

 

Fill shaker tin with ice.  Pour 2 ounces of infused Grapefruit Blush in shaker tin.  Pour 2 ounces of grapefruit juice in shaker tin and shake vigorously.  Strain into a salt rimmed (or inside of glass), ice-filled glass.  Top with 2 ounces of lime or grapefruit sparkling water (e.g. La Croix). 

 

 

 

THE SIMPLE GRAPEFRUIT BLUSH MARGARITA 

1 ½ to 2 ounces             Infused Grapefruit Blush (infuse with silver or reposado tequila)

GRAPEFRUIT GIMLET

1.5 ounces     Infused Grapefruit Blush (infuse with gin)

1 ounce          Grapefruit Juice

2 ounces        Topo Chico or Sparkling Water

Optional:        Muddled Basil

 

For an optional twist on the grapefruit gimlet, muddle 3-5 basil leaves in the bottom of a shaker tin.  Add infused Grapefruit Blush and grapefruit in shaker tin. Fill shaker tin with ice and shake vigorously.  Strain into an ice filled glass.  Top with 2 ounces of Topo Chico or sparkling water.

 

  

Cucumber Breeze Recipes

 CUCUMBER BASIL GIMLET

1.5 ounces  Infused Cucumber Breeze (infuse with gin)

2 ounces     Lemonade

1 Squeeze    Gourmet Basil Paste (find at Walmart, Target, Kroger)

Optional:     Splash of Topo Chico or Sparkling Water

 

Squeeze basil paste in the bottom of a shaker tin (alternatively, you can muddle 3-5 fresh basil leaves).  Add infused Cucumber Breeze and lemonade in shaker tin. Fill shaker tin with ice and shake vigorously.  Strain into an ice filled glass.  Optional:  top with 2 ounces of Topo Chico or sparkling water.

 

 

CUCUMBER BREEZE LEMONADE

1.5 ounces  Infused Cucumber Breeze (infuse with vodka)

2 ounces     Lemonade

Optional:    Squeeze Gourmet Basil Paste to make a Basil Lemonade (sooo good!)

        Splash of Topo Chico or Sparkling Water

 

Add infused Cucumber Breeze and lemonade in shaker tin. Fill shaker tin with ice and shake vigorously.  Strain into an ice filled glass.  Optional:  top with 2 ounces of Topo Chico or sparkling water.

 

 

CUCUMBER MULE

1.5 ounces     Infused Cucumber Breeze (infuse with vodka)

4 ounces        Ginger Beer

 

Pour 1.5 ounces infused Cucumber Breeze into an ice filled copper mug.  Top with ginger beer.  Optional: Garnish with a slice of cucumber and a lime wedge.

  

 

CUCUMBER MOJITO

1 ounce      Infused Cucumber Breeze (infuse with light rum)

2 ounces    Stirrings Simple Mojito Mix (find at Specs, Total Wine)

2 ounces    Topo Chico or Sparkling Water

Add infused Cucumber Breeze and mix to shaker tin.  Fill shaker tin with ice and shake vigorously.  Strain into an ice filled glass.  Top with Topo Chico or Sparkling Water (lime La Croix).  Garnish with a lime if you are feeling fancy. 

 

 

PITCHER BATCH CUCUMBER MOJITO

2 cups       Infused Cucumber Breeze (infuse with rum)

4 cups       Stirrings Simple Mojito Mix (find at Specs, Total Wine)

2 ounces   Topo Chico or Sparkling Water

Shake infusion jar vigorously and strain into pitcher (this is approximately 2 cups of infusion).  Add Mojito Mix and stir.  Pitcher will garner appx. 10 cocktails. Pour over ice-filled glass and top with Topo Chico or Sparkling Water.  Infuse twice to yield an even larger batch. Double the batch by infusing the jar contents in a 32 ounce jar and double the recipe above – should garner 20 cocktails in a pitcher.

 

 

SIMPLE SPICY CUCUMBER JALAPENO MARGARITA

2 ounces      Infused Cucumber Breeze (infuse with silver or reposado tequila)

3 ounces     Tres Agave Margarita Mix (find at HEB, Randall's, Target)

2-3 slices    Jalapeno

 

Combine all ingredients into a shaker tin.  Muddle all ingredients to release the juices.  Add ice to shaker tin and shake vigorously.  Strain over ice-filled low-ball or margarita glass.  Optional: rim your glass with salt or Tajin before straining margarita in the glass.  Don't like spicy?  Just leave out the jalapeno...you will still have a delicious cucumber margarita.
